The Kandy Esala Dalanda perahera is a grand festival celebrated with elegant costumes and is held in July & August months annually in Kandy, Sri Lanka. This Historical procession is held anually to homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Budhdha, Which is housed at the “Sri Dalanda Maligawa” (Temple of Tooth) in Kandy (Ancient called Senkadagala) . A unique symbol of Sri Lanka , Procession consists of many traditional local dances such as Kandyan dances,fire-dances, whip-dances & many cultural dances. in addition tamed Tuskers, elephants with colorful costumes. ATusker bringing “Karanduwa” in procession.
