These are the wonderful dances and songs performed as part of the Sinhalese/Tamil New Year festivities in Townsville Australia on the 14th of April 2019. The Sri Lankan New Year is celebrated on the 13th and 14th of April in Sri Lanka and around the World. It is marked by the call of the Koha (Asian Koel) bird who heralds in the New Year, special traditional foods and the playing of traditional games at this time of the year. It is a joyous and festive time of the year for all Sri Lankans.
