Sihil sullan ralle (Sinhalese song) – dedicated to Sri Lanka

This time for the ‘Languages of the world’ series, I am singing a Sinhalese song. 🇱🇰

Sri Lanka🇱🇰 has been grappled by its worst economic crisis. This song is dedicated to Sri Lanka🇱🇰 – its people, its culture, its music.

I have created this video to showcase not only the natural beauty of Sri Lanka but also other things that Sri Lanka is well known for – tea, coffee and Buddhism. All images are from Unsplash.com.

All music arrangement, performance (voice, instrumentation) and recording are done by me.

Original credits:

Singer and composer: Victor Rathnayake
Lyrics: Sena Weerasekara

Please share with any Sri Lankan🇱🇰 friends and let them know you are thinking of them.

Translation (will be upgraded and updated shortly):
In the wave of the gentle wind,
Your scent mingles;
The heart flutters
With the gentle caress of love.

Like the flower blooming in the white sands,
Rivers of worldly taste will rain your love and
Katara will be a world of gods.
