Veena Duet by Iyer Brothers- Vid Ramnath Iyer and Vid Gopinath Iyer (Australia), Mridangam: Vid Balasri Rasiah
Melbourne-based twin brothers Ramnath Iyer and Gopinath Iyer began their veena training from vidushi Srimathi Rajagopalan before becoming disciples of veena maestros Shri R. Pichumani and Trivandrum Shri R.Venkataraman. Australia’s leading exponents of the veena, the Iyer Brothers have made a name for themselves in Australia and overseas as a unique duo in Carnatic (South Indian) classical music. Their music is both exciting and complex, beautiful and challenging. Vid.Balasri Rasiah, hails from Sri Lanka. He learnt to play the Mridangam from late Prof A. S. Ramanathan, and went on to gain his diploma in Mridangam and obtained the title “Sangeetha Ratnam” from the Ramanathan College of Fine Arts, Jaffna, Sri Lanka.
